Who We Are

We are a small hands on design firm. All of us have been in the design field for all our lives- we love it. We have a passion for what we are doing.  All of us have a desire to create exciting interiors. We are always looking for ways to do it differently. That keeps us inspired and gives you a fresh interior. NOTE: I retired 2021, not accepting new work.  thank you all for many wonderful years.

Our History

I opened the firm after 5 years at WJ Sloane San Francisco flagship store and 5 years of head designer at the Custom Interior Design Dept. Macy's Union Square San Francisco.   Lou Ann Bauer, ASID, is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley with a BA in Fine Arts, and a BS in Interior Design from San Jose State University in California. She is the principal of her own firm in San Francisco, Bauer Interior Design. She has been a professional interior designer and owned her own firm for 45 years. Lou Ann has combined her art training with the function of interior design to create a whimsical and colorful mix of furnishings and interiors. Lou Ann is a hands on designer- meeting with her clients and selecting all materials.  ​
